What is the Survival Event?
The Survival Event is a fun and challenging competition designed to test skaters' endurance and control across three classic elements: jump landings, spins, and spirals.
- No Falls Counted: If a skater falls during any elements, no time will be recorded.
- No Cheated Landings or Take-Offs: Elements must be performed cleanly. If a jump landing or take-off is cheated, no time will be recorded.
- Jump Landing
- Each STAR level has a designated jump.
- Timing begins the moment the skater lands and continues until they touch the ice with any limb, break landing position, or stop moving.
- Spin
- Skaters may choose any spin or spin positions, with only 1 change of foot permitted.
- Timing begins when the skater enters the spin and stops when they stop spinning and exit.
- Spiral
- Skaters perform a spiral on either foot and edge.
- Timing begins once the skater is in a full spiral position and stops when they break position or stop moving.
The Goal!
The winner is determined by the combined total time across all three elements - jump landing + spin + spiral. The skater with the longest overall time takes the crown!
βBonus for STAR 5+ Survivours
- This element is judged (not timed) based on:
- Quality and execution of the turns.
- Ice coverage achieved throughout the sequence.
| SURVIVAL LEVEL | JUMP REQUIRED |
| Junior STAR | Any 2-ft or single jump can be selected |
| STAR 1 | Waltz Jump |
| STAR 2 | Salchow |
| STAR 3 | Loop |
| STAR 4 | Flip or Lutz |
| STAR 5+ | Axel |
π±Junior STAR Survival Event
- Landing Position (Jump of Choice) - Skaters select their jump, then hold the landing position.
- Two-Foot Spin or Change-Foot Spin - Skaters may choose either option, with timing starting once the spin begins and stopping when it ends.
- One-Foot Glide - Hold a glide on one foot for as long as possible.
Each element is timed, and the combined total time across all three determines the Junior STAR Survivour champion.
The competition will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, with the events starting at 8:00 am.
Further details on event categories will be included in the upcoming tech pack. The competition schedule will be announced once registration is officially closed!
Our Club Competition runs on volunteer power! We need helping hands for roles like registration desk, ice captain, runner, announcer, and music.
π Join the team, support our skaters, and make the event unforgettable!
