STAR Skate Competitions
STAR Skate allows skaters to compete at various levels, following Skate Canada's STAR Skate competition rules. These competitions provide a platform for skaters to showcase their skills, gain valuable experience, and receive recognition for their achievements.
Competition Categories:

Elements (STAR 1 - Gold):

Description: Skaters perform individual elements such as spins, jumps, spiral/field move sequences, and/or step sequences.

Objective: Focus on technical accuracy and execution of specific elements.

Recognition: STAR 1-3 skaters receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze ribbon. STAR 4 - Gold skaters receive a ranked placement, with the top three receiving medals.

Programs (STAR 2 - Gold):

Description: Skaters perform a full program set to music, incorporating elements like jumps, spins, spiral/field move sequences, and/or step sequences. Each level has specific requirements for the length of the music cuts and elements to ensure skaters perform within a standardized time frame.

Recognition: STAR 2-3 skaters receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze ribbon. STAR 4 - Gold skaters receive a ranked placement, with the top three receiving medals.

Artistic (STAR 5, 7, 9, & Gold):

Description: Skaters perform programs that emphasize creativity, musical interpretation, and artistic expression. Each level has specific requirements for the length of the music cuts and elements to ensure skaters perform within a standardized time frame.

Objective: Showcase creativity and emotional connection to the music.

Recognition: Skaters are ranked, and the top three receive medals.

Showcase (Level 1 - 4):

Description: Skaters perform thematic programs that tell a story or depict a character. Costumes and props may be used to enhance the performance. Each level has specific requirements for the length of the music cuts to ensure skaters perform within a standardized time frame.

Objective: Highlight presentation skills, creativity, and entertainment value.

Recognition: Levels 1 and 2 receive ribbons as Gold, Silver, or Bronze, and 3 and 4 are ranked and the top three receive medals.

Team Events (STAR 2 - Gold):

Description: Groups of 2 -4 skaters perform together, showcasing synchronization and teamwork.

Improv (Level 1 - 4):

Ice Dance Pairs (STAR 2 - Diamond):

Description: Couples perform set patterns and original dances, focusing on rhythm, interpretation, and edge quality. Programs include compulsory dances, rhythm dances, and free dances. Each level has specific requirements for the length of the music cuts and elements to ensure skaters perform within a standardized time frame.

Recognition: STAR 3 receives ribbons as Gold, Silver, or Bronze, and 4, 6, 8, and Gold are ranked and the top three receive medals.
