2024-25 Skate Canada Registrant Fees:

Please see below a breakdown of the $58.70 Skate Canada Registrant Fees that you will see on your registration invoice:

  • Registrant Fee - National Portion: $28.00

  • Registrant Fee - Sectional Portion (Skate Canada MB): $25.00

  • Safe Sport Fee: $5.00

  • Injury Benefit Charge: $0.70

Total: $58.70

 

Volunteerism Requirements for East St. Paul Skating Club:

Volunteering Commitment:

  • Each Advanced CanSkater, STARSkater, or their parent/guardian, must complete at least 4 hours of volunteering.

    • Volunteer activities include: playing music, managing the Buy and Sell table, making CanSkater of the Day bags, assisting with events (e.g., Ice Show, Assessment Days, AGM, Other Events), and participating in the Club Executive (Program Assisting is not included), etc.

Volunteer Cheque:

  • A $200.00 volunteer cheque, postdated to March 15th of the following year, is required on the first session of the season.

    • STARSkaters & Advanced CanSkaters must submit this cheque.

Completion and Return:

  • Upon completing ALL required volunteer hours:

    • The cheque will be returned or destroyed.

  • If the volunteer requirement is not met:

    • The cheque will be cashed—no exceptions.

Non-Compliance Consequences:

  • A cheque that is NOT clear when cashed will result in:

    • Member Account status: Suspended until the amount owed is cleared.

  • Failure to submit the volunteer cheque:

    • Postpones the child's participation in the registered program.

STAR Assessment Fees:

Overview: The STAR Assessment program involves two categories of assessments: STAR 1-5 and STAR 6-Gold. Each category has its own assessment process and associated fees.

STAR 1-5 Assessments:

  • Assessment Process: These assessments are conducted by your coach during a normal practice session, at your coach's discretion.

  • Fees: There are no additional fees for these assessments.

    • Cost: $12.00

STAR 6-Gold Assessments:

  • Assessment Process: These assessments are conducted during a designated assessment day by an accredited evaluator brought in for the session.

  • Fees: There are additional costs for administration fees and ice fees. You will be notified of these additional costs in advance.

    • Cost: $12.00 + additional fees

Base Assessment Fee:

  • Total: $12.00 (including $3.60 section fee)

Definition of Fees: 

Safe Sport Fee: Skate Canada prioritizes creating a safe and inclusive environment. Since the program's inception in 2016-17, the cost to support this initiative has increased significantly. To continue providing these essential services and maintaining high standards of safety and inclusivity, the Safe Sport Fee has been increased to $5.00 per participant.
