Adaptive Skating:
YOUR RINK, YOUR RULES, NO ONE SITS OUT
Program Overview: Our Adaptive Skating program welcomes athletes of all physical and cognitive abilities into a fun, supportive environment where everyone can experience the joy of skating. We proudly support athletes with cognitive and physical disabilities or impairments who can participate in Special Olympics in either recreational or competitive skating, ensuring each skater can develop sports skills, social confidence, and self-esteem. Our experienced coaches work closely with athletes and caregivers to tailor every lesson, celebrating each milestone on and off the ice.

-
Small Group Instruction: Skaters are placed in small groups (maximum 10 skaters) based on their skill level. This ensures personalized attention, promotes safety, and lets each athlete progress at their own pace.
-
Adaptive Coach Expertise: Our coaches are specially trained in adaptive instruction techniques, drawing on experience with physical and cognitive disabilities to deliver clear, effective guidance on the ice.
-
Personalized Lesson Plans: Coaches collaborate with skaters and caregivers to design custom lesson plans that reflect individual goals, learning styles, and needs—so every session feels meaningful and achievable.
-
Mobility Aid Integration: When beneficial, we introduce sleds, walkers, or gliders to provide stability, build confidence, and keep the focus on skill development rather than equipment limitations.
-
Pathways for Play & Competition: Whether you’re seeking fun, fitness, or a competitive edge, our program links athletes to recreational sessions and Special Olympics opportunities, matching ambitions with the right track.
-
Holistic Skill & Confidence Building: From mastering balance and agility to fostering teamwork and self-esteem, our curriculum weaves technical drills with social engagement, empowering skaters on and off the ice.
