Adult Programs:
WOBBLING WITH WISDOM AND GLIDING WITH GUSTO
Program Overview: Our Adult/Teen Skate programs cater to figure skaters, hockey/ringette players, and recreational skaters aged 15 years and older who want to practice and improve their skating skills. The focus of these sessions is for teen and adult skaters to prepare for tests and/or Adult & STARSkate competitions, hockey/ringette, or to skate recreationally. Lessons are taught by a team of NCCP-certified coaches who provide personalized feedback and tailored guidance to help each skater achieve their best.
East St. Paul Skating Club is pleased to offer a range of programs for adults of all skating levels, including Adult CanSkate, Adult Advanced, and Adult Competitive.

Adult CanSkate:

Overview: This class is perfect for those starting their skating journey or rediscovering their love of skating and wanting to improve their fundamentals for hockey/ringette, figure skating, or recreational skating.

Structure: Held in group lessons, this beginner-centered program provides a supportive environment for learning basic skills.

Focus: Emphasis on developing fundamental skating skills such as Balance, Control, and Agility.
Adult Advanced:

Overview: This class is designed for those who are comfortable skating and wish to move beyond the fundamentals to further improve their skills.

Structure: Held in group lessons, this semi-experienced program focuses on enhancing existing abilities and learning more advanced techniques.

Focus: Emphasis on refining skills and learning more complex maneuvers to improve overall skating proficiency.
Adult Competitive:

Overview: This program is for those who have continued their figure skating journey and wish to still compete or test their skills.

Structure: Held in private lessons during regular STARSkate sessions, this program offers personalized coaching tailored to experienced skaters.

Focus: Emphasis on preparing for competitions and tests, with a focus on perfecting techniques and performance elements.

Figure Skate Sharpening: Getting figure skates sharpened at a local figure skate-specific sharpener is recommended. Most retail sharpeners are not trained in the specifics of figure skate blades. Please discuss with your club coach for further details. The prices at the local sharpener recommended by club coaches are $15 for most blades and $18 for stainless steel blades.

Hockey Skate Sharpening: For hockey skates go to any local sharpener (retail or private). The price at many local pro shops is $10 - $15.

When To Sharpen Skates: It is recommended to get skates sharpened approximately every 15-20 hours of skating.
